I’m welcoming myself back to my blog! LOL
After dedicating a FULL month to planning my event, We Are S.i.C.K. (which, by the way, was uh-mazing), I can now keep moving forward with my writing!!
So, here we go.
Except today, I just have to lovingly tell you that this post is gonna shake some foundations and stir some waves among many people.
Still, I write.
Within in the last four weeks, TWO national tragedies have taken place.
Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs.
So, today, we’re gonna talk about these events.
We’re gonna learn about them, too.
But, I need your help because I cannot do this without y’alls willingness to listen.
So, “Please Jesus, give me your words to say as I sit here, feeling quite alone, that we might douse a flame that’s been sitting idle for too long. Allow those of us who are reading this to seek answers You have already provided. Allow your heart to pour out from my words as I try and reach a nation that you have ALWAYS, always, always wanted to save.”
What are we doin’?
Pastors on Facebook talkin’ about ‘evil’ and how ‘evil has done this’ and we live in an ‘evil world’ and we ‘can’t let evil win….’
While I don’t disagree…
Can we just be real and call it as it is?
2 Corinthians 4:4, AKJV:
Friends, the lowercase god of this world has a name. “Evil,” has a name. And it’s Satan.
And as long as we are living in this temporary world, Satan will be permanently in charge.
Hard to swallow, I know.
The thing is: I refuse to talk about a Jesus who has come to GIVE us life, if I cannot in that same sentence talk about a devil who has come to STEAL it. John 10:10, AKJV
Satan is not waiting for us to die to say he killed us. He’s not waiting to destroy our marriages. He’s not waiting to steal our joy, our passion, our confidence, our God-given plans.
He is at work, now.
Silence is killing us. Not acknowledging the existence of the devil is killing us. Believing the lie that we are crediting him for saying his name out loud is killing us.
He wants us to be quiet so he can have power over us!
Which is exactly why we have GOT to speak!
Cuz the Jesus I know is also not waiting to give us abundant life.
VICTORY comes in the DEFEAT.
We cannot keep livin’ here ignoring the fact that there is a very real war going on.
So, Church, I ask us again, what are we doin’?
Events such as Sutherland Springs are not a battle of flesh and blood, they are a manifestation of something more, something deeper, something unseen, something spiritual. Something that maybe you and I can relate to in our own hearts.
The miscarriage. The needle. The suicidal thoughts. The rape. The abandonment. The OCD. The anger. The addiction. The stillborn. The judgment. The pornography. The masturbation. The unforgiveness. The sexual assault. The perfectionism. The gossip. The mental illness. The slander. The cancer. The divorce. The adultery. The low self-esteem.
All this time placin’ BLAME and SHAME on ourselves and wondering where God is in all of this, and thinkin’ things like, if God is so Good, why does He allow bad things to happen?
Friends, if we are here today believing that God is responsible for all of the bad things that are happening, why would He send His only son to be crucified for us? In other words, if God’s will was for us to live in despair, for all of eternity, why would we need a Savior?
The truth is: Jesus Christ died to SAVE us from this world.
And He is comin’ back soon.
Not to CHANGE this world, but to take us up OUT of it (1 Thessalonians 4, AKJV) to a place called Heaven, where NONE OF THIS MESS happens!
We have GOT to understand that life is HARD because we are HERE. In a temporary world, called Earth, ruled by a murderer, who speaks NO truth because he is the father of all lies.
John 8:44, AKJV
For these very reasons, we have GOT to find Jesus.
We have GOT to correct our vision!
2 Corinthians 4:18, AKJV
We have GOT to suit up!
How can we possibly win this war if we don’t even know who we are fighting?!
Ephesians 6, AKJV
VICTORY comes in the HARD.
So, my questions today are:
Who are we fighting?
Perhaps more urgently, who are we defending?
That’s a LOT to take in.
I feel like I just ate an entire pot of fried rice.
So, where do we go from here?
Well, first, we gotta CHOOSE.
Keep livin’ unforgiven?
Or find Jesus by confessin’?
Romans 10:9-10, AKJV
Second, we PRAY.
“Jesus, give us a sound mind. One of power, not of fear. Move us to boldly speak. To bring others into your Kingdom. Cause our hearts to overrule our minds. Place your mighty armor upon us. Protect us, God. Strengthen our feeble knees. Give us the power and the courage to STAND. We pray for those who don’t know you, that they would come to know you, and that any hatred stirring in their hearts today would be crushed by your loving hand.”
Third, we ENDURE.
2 Timothy 3:11-15, AKJV
Everything beyond this…my wisdom and encouragement for us all.
Find a church whose pastor calls Satan by name. Not: evil, hardship, trial, storm, struggle.
Find a church whose pastor teaches on the book of Romans.
Find a church whose pastor encourages us to endure and KEEP fighting.
Find a church whose pastor talks about HARD life and how to OVERCOME it.
Find a church whose pastor recognizes that his people are the very people who are suffering the most.
Find a church whose pastor offers comfort, inspiration, encouragement and grace.
Find a church whose pastor proclaims the power of the Holy Spirit on a weekly basis.
Find a church whose pastor preaches Ephesians 6 and how to STAND against spiritual forces.
Find a church whose pastor talks about spiritual forces.
Find a church whose pastor teaches beyond New Testament books such as: Matthew, Mark and Luke.
Find a church whose pastor acknowledges we are living in the last days.
Find a church whose pastor preaches about ‘life is HARD’ Jesus.
Maybe don’t even find a church that has a pastor.
Maybe just find a home where a few of you meet every Sunday to talk about the glorious appearing of a Jesus who is coming back to save us from this hell on earth.
Friends, we are right to talk about these HARD things.
We are right to expose Satan.
We are right to stop and truly ask ourselves, what are we doin’?
What are we doin’ for the Kingdom?
I really do.
“But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
Jude 17-25, AKJV
